Cardinal Forest Friends preschoolers at Board of Education meeting
Cardinal Forest Friends

Students from our first nature-based preschool class “Cardinal Forest Friends” led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance at a recent Board of Education meeting. Once a week these preschoolers pack up and head to the Williams Nature Center, where they spend three full hours exploring, discovering and learning outside! Nature provides amazing, hands-on lessons that simply cannot be replicated inside a typical classroom.

Our DECA marketing chapter, HOSA (Health Sciences) and DTV, the student-operated television station, have both been recognized at the state and national levels. DHS students are also active in Student Council, National Honor Society, Key Club, Robotics, ESports, Quiz Bowl, Science Olympiad and Environmental Club among other community-service centered activities. The DHS staff succeeds in our mission by working collaboratively, utilizing instructional best-practices, and verifying success through data analysis. Our students succeed because our staff, our parents and our community work together to help them be the best they can be.
